Since the middle of the last century, Venezuela seems to have proudly appropriated for itself the 1950s global tradition of integrating the visual arts into architecture. Architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva was the foremost practitioner with his famous Universidad Central de Venezuela, a global example of how this “synthesis of the arts” could be successful, having planned its buildings with the artists on board at very early stages of the project.

Since 2005, Gili has carried out several interior wall-paintings for private clients, working with the architecture of the space. In most cases, the clients recognise and value this tradition of integration, leaving the works permanently on display in their living spaces. Here is a selection of works through the years.
